Social justice oriented supervision for associate clinicians

I have been licensed as an independent clinical social worker, or LICSW (LW#60686077), since December 2016, and meet all additional requirements to be a Washington state approved supervisor.  I can provide individual (one-on-one) supervision to associate social workers (LSWAIC), associate mental health counselors (LMHCA), and associate marriage and family therapists (LMFTA).

In supervision, I emphasize the application of social justice principles in clinical practice, utilizing anti-racist, feminist, and queer liberatory frameworks.  This often means exploring our own roles as both oppressors and oppressed, in whichever ways that applies to each of us, and what that means in our work with our clients, our communities, and each other. I will also likely utilize elements from my primary therapeutic modalities of ACT and IFS to assist in identifying values and strategies for self-compassionate practice.

I really enjoy working with clinicians who are concurrently working in, or transitioning out of, community mental health.  Navigating the world of private practice, making adjustments to our clinical work, and re-developing our self-concept after working in CMH can be challenging.  I have been there!

I offer a limited number of sliding scale spots for supervisees working in community mental health, newly establishing themselves in private practice, or who are BIPOC and/or LGBTQIA2S+. Click here to see more about my fee structure.
